Four Women's Basketball Players Named CSC Academic All-District

LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams have been released to include four from Florida Southern College's women's basketball team.
 
The Academic All-District Team recipients for Division II include Florida Southern's, Anna Denes, Sydney Gomes, Sarah Lange, and Lily Pereira.
 
Anna Denes is a senior from Budapest, Hungary working toward a degree in Exercise Science. The forward has appeared in all 27 games for the Mocs with 26 starts. In her final year with the Moccasins, Denes scored 174 points, pulled down 172 rebounds, had 34 assists, and 31 steals in 601 minutes of action. Played a career-high 38 minutes against Tampa (12/4/25) and went for a career-high 13 rebounds against Saint Leo (1/18/25). Recorded four double-doubles throughout the year and earned SSC Defensive POW honors (1/20/25). This is Denes second year receiving this honor. 
 
A junior from Ponte Vedra, Fla., Sydney Gomes was awarded All-Sunshine State Conference second-team honors, starting in 26 games for the women's basketball team. The 5-8 guard is working toward a Sports Business Management degree and has a 4.0 GPA after five semesters. On the court, Gomes averaged 35.5 minutes (2nd in SSC), 15.8 points (5th in SSC), 6.5 rebounds (9th in SSC), 4.9 assists (2nd in SSC), and 1.6 steals per game (7th in SSC). Recorded two triple-doubles and three double-doubles in the season. Had a career-high 25 points against Maryville (12/21/24), a career-high 10 assists against Mount Olive (11/30/25), and played a career-high 45 minutes against Saint Leo (2/22/25). Ended the year with 411 points, 169 rebounds, 128 assists, 99 made free throws, 44 steals, and nine blocks in 922 minutes of action. Earned SSC Player of the Week Honors on 11/25/24. 
 
Sarah Lange, a graduate student working toward her master's in business administration has played in 25 games this season, including 10 games started. Averaged 15.2 minutes per contest. Converted on 48.9% of field goal attempts, making 44 on the year. Finished her final season for FSC with 106 points, 73 rebounds, and 36 blocks (2nd in SSC).  
 
Lily Pereira earned a 4.0 in exercise science during her sophomore year on the women's basketball. The Winston-Salem native has played in 26 games this season, starting seven. Scored a career-high 18 points against PBA (3/1/25), converting on six of nine field goal attempts. Also recorded a career-high of 38 minutes and seven rebounds against Saint Leo (2/22/25). Shot 54.1% from the field and 48.6% from behind the arc. Had 146 points, 60 rebounds, 11 steals, and 22 made free throws in 442 minutes
