LAKELAND, Fla. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released the March edition of the Division II Top 25 dual meet poll, with Florida Southern College swimming teams moving up.
Â
The Moccasin men's swimming team moved up to No. 15, and the women's team moved up to No. 23 in the Division II poll. The University of Tampa is the top team on the men's side, and the University of Indianapolis is No. 1 on the women's side.
Â
The bump in national rankings reflects a strong finish for the Mocs at last month's Sunshine State Conference Championships, in which the men's team finished second overall and the women's team fourth overall. FSC had nine total NCAA individual qualifiers, five on the women's team:
Sam Hunter, Olivia Miles, Alizee Pelletier, Elizabeth Sikes, and Vanda Voroshazy. Janek Barczyk, Peter Csicsaky, Nino Viallon, and
Brandon Wilson qualified for the men's team and will bring a few others as relay alternates.
Â
The All-SSC awards were also released at the end of last month, with Csicsaky First Team honoree, Miles Second Team, Voroshazy, Barczyk, and Viallon selected for the Third Team. Â The highest ranking for either team this season, the Mocs will look to continue the trend and quest for a national championship winner at next week's finals.
Â
The Mocs will take part in the NCAA DII Championships, which begin on March 11-15 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. A full preview of the NCAA Championships will be released before events next week.
