CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Florida Southern College women's track team sent six members of the squad to compete in Cleveland, Tenn. at the Lee University – Fast Break Athletics Invitational. FSC competed in just one event Friday as all six Moccasins toed the line for the 5,000m.
Senior
Emma Mussante led the way for the Mocs as she posted the second-fastest 5K time in program history at 17:10.50. She now holds the top-four all-time best performances in the 5,000m at FSC and six of the top-10. Her performance Friday earned her 15
th overall. Sophomore
Grace Reed posted the seventh-best time for the Mocs this season at 17:48.35 while finishing 10 spots back in 25
th.
Graduate student
Ellie Fluman and senior
Mya Stam finished back-to-back in 29
th and 30
th, respectively. Fluman stopped the clock at 17:54.16 while Stam came across in 17:55.09. The final two Moccasins went back-to-back as well as freshman
Alena Pezzoli and sophomore
Emma Pfeiffer placed 36
th and 37
th. Pezzoli clocked in at 18:12.55 while Pfeiffer posted a time of 18:21.37.
The Moccasins will now turn their focus to the inaugural Sunshine State Conference Outdoor Track Championships. The event will take place in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the Embry-Riddle Track & Field Complex on Saturday, April 19.
