HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – No. 22 Florida Southern women's golf is in fifth place of the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championships at Mission Inn Resort & Club after day two of the league's championships.
Clare Gimpel jumped eight spots Monday after posting an even-par 71 to sit in fifth place heading to Tuesday's final round. Gimpel had seven pars and six birdies over her second 18 holes on the par-71 Las Colinas course.
Ava La Belle dropped 14 spots but is still inside the top half of the field at 150 (+8) after Monday's second round 77 (+6). La Belle made 10 pars and one birdie on the day.
Kaley Amuso, too, dropped a few spots but is tied for 27
th place at 152 (+10), matching La Belle's 77 round. Amuso started the day off strong with back-to-back birdies but finished the round with four total birdies and seven pars.
McKinley Holding moved up one spot thanks to a second round 75 (+4) where she sits at 153 (+11) for the 36-hole total. Holding made eight pars, three birdies, and an eagle on the par-5 433-yard 14
th hole.
Taylor Zachary is one stroke off teammate Holding with a 154 (+12) total, where she is tied for 33
rd heading to the final 18 holes, where she carded 11 pars Monday.
No. 9 Nova Southeastern remains on top after posting a second-round 288 (+4) for a two-round total of 579 (+11). Florida Southern is tied with No. 16 Saint Leo, and the two teams are two strokes out of fourth place. No. 7 Amelia Ruiz (Lynn) is clinging to a one-stroke lead after jumping two spots with a one-under 70 to sit at 143 (+1) for the event.
The third and final round tees off Tuesday at 11 a.m., where the Moccasins are on the links at 11:20 a.m. with
Taylor Zachary off the tee first. She is followed by
McKinley Holding at 11:28,
Kaley Amuso at 11:36,
Ava La Belle at 11:44, and
Clare Gimpel at 11:52.
