Thoroman and Riley Named to ABCA South Region All-Defensive Team

GREENSBORO, NC – The 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division II Region All-Defensive Teams have been announced with Florida Southern College's Grant Thoroman and Rohsean Riley selected to the All-South Team.
 
This marks the third consecutive year with Moccasins selected to the All-Defensive Team for the South Region by the ABCA. Last season, El'Rico Riley (OF) and R. Riley (3B) were selected to the defensive team, with E. Riley later selected as a Gold Glove Winner.
 
Thoroman earned his All-Defensive honors, adding to an already extensive award list by the outfielder. The ABCA All-American for the Mocs had a big 2025 season, earning D2 CCA, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and ABCA All-South honors. He was also named to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team and SSC All-Defensive teams. Thoroman started all 54 games in the outfield, leading the team in batting average with .376 and a .605 slugging percentage. The graduate transfer from Girard Ill. drew 30 walks for an OB percentage of .457, leading the team with 71 RBI. Thoroman was also a threat once on base, stealing 46 bases to help the team to one of the nation's best SB totals (230 SB in 2025).
 
Riley won his second consecutive regional defensive award, capping a great end to his collegiate career. Named to the All-SSC Defensive Team, Riley had a fielding percentage of .948, with 38 putouts and 89 assists at third base. He started 53 games for the Mocs with a .358 batting average and 45 RBI. The infielder from Winter Haven, Fla., had an OB % of .443 after drawing 30 walks and four HBP. Riley also added seven stolen bases to his season as the team finished 2025 with a new program record of 230 bases.
