LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's tennis player
Olivia Bryant has earned the title of an All-American. Bryant has earned the title announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), as well as the College Sports Communicators (CSC), earning first-team recognition for the Academic All-American award in the CSC.
The criteria for ITA All-American recognition are finishing in the Top 20 of the final ITA National Singles Rankings and Top Ten in the final ITA Doubles Rankings. In the final ITA ranking, Bryant finished the 2025 season ranked ninth in singles, leading her team who finished 13th in the ITA.
"Olivia defines the work ethic and passion needed to be an All-American, a well-deserved and earned accomplishment," said head coach
Trish Riddell. "A fantastic way to complete her collegiate career. Congrats, Olivia!"
Bryant was named an Academic All-District first team honoree, advancing to the Academic All-American ballot, where she will be voted on by College Sports Communicators (CSC) members for her success on the court and in the classroom. Bryant finished her collegiate career with a 3.78 and graduated with a degree in communications: interpersonal and organizational.
Bryant was also named to the Sunshine State All-Conference singles first team and finished the season ranked ninth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and concluded her graduate year ranking as high as seventh in singles actions with a 17-4 overall record, all being in the No.1 singles position.
Bryant went on an 11-match winning streak to open the season, only falling to No. 37 Lynn University's Salma Djoubri (6-3, 6-3) before Bryant went on a six-match winning streak taking down top ranked opponents along the way to her best ranking of the season at No. 7. Bryant's highlighted win was taking down No. 3 Alina Michalitsch winning 6-3, 7-5.
After Bryant faced her toughest opponent yet in #1 singles player Michalitsch went on a 4-0 streak, facing top opponents to help the Mocs upset No. 5 Embry-Riddle to win 4-3 on the road. Bryant concluded her career on a 4-1 run taking down No. 53 Laura Cuesta Bret (6-4, 6-2), No. 26 Natalie Rainke (6-4, 6-4), No. 23 Carlota Verdu (6-4, 7-6(7-5)), and No. 13 Nancy Liu (0-6, 6-1, 7-6(8-6)).
