KENOSHA, Wis. – The Florida Southern College men's cross country traveled to the site of the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships to compete in the 18
th Annual Lucian Rosa Invitational. The meet was hosted by the University of Wisconsin Parkside. The Mocs took seventh overall in the 24-team field, defeating a pair of teams ranked in the top-30 nationally despite being without top performer senior
Christian Giller.

The Mocs finished with 231 points as a team to finish ahead of 17 teams including two ranked inside the top-30 teams nationally. The Mocs defeated 21
st-ranked Alabama Huntsville which placed two spots behind the Mocs in ninth. 28
th-ranked Illinois Springfield finished back in the pack in 15
th. The top two teams in the race were second-ranked Colorado School of Mines with 52 points and third-ranked Adams State with 59 points. Regional rival Lee placed third overall with 91 points.

Sophomore
Eli Zuppa took over the top spot for the Mocs as he picked up a 35
th-place finish while completing the course in 25:31.41. The next two Mocs nearly finished back-to-back as senior
Chris Colavita and junior
Cole Summers were separated by just one spot as Colavita took 46
th followed by Summers in 38
th. Colavita completed the race in 25:47.92 while Summers clocked in at 25:49.14.
Junior
Michael Toppi was the next Moccasin to cross the finish line as he placed 55
th overall with a time of 25:53.29. The final scoring runner for FSC was senior
Anthony Matthew. Matthew took 76
th overall after stopping the clock at 26:16.12.

The final two FSC competitors were junior
William Canales and sophomore
Andrew Nyland. Canales finished just inside the top-100 as he placed 90
th with a mark of 26:27.40. Nyland crossed the finish in 26:50.20 to take 115
th overall.

The Moccasins will now turn their focus to the 26th Annual FLRunners.com Invitational which will take place in Lakeland on Friday, Oct. 3 at 8 a.m.
