GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Southern College women's track opened up 2026 at the Jimmy Carnes Track and Field College Open and Masters. Sophomore
Nika Gividen led the Moccasins with a first place finish in the 1000m, clocking a time of 3:06.74. This remarkable performance set a new school record in the 1,000m, surpassing the previous mark of 3:18.96 held by
Carolina Titus (2021-24). Meanwhile, junior
Grace Reed finished as runner-up in the mile, clocking in at 5:08.76, which is the fourth fastest mile time in program history.
Middle Distance
Gividen secured first place in the 1000m with a time of 3:06.74, while senior
Caitlin Beery took third at 3:09.09. Beery's performance marked the second fastest 1,000m in program history.
Distance
In the Mile, Reed finished second with a time of 5:08.76, followed by junior
Emma Pfeiffer in third at 5:16.91. FSC athletes also claimed the 7th to 9th positions, led by sophomore
Heloise Pinto at 5:25.52.
