ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The No. 10/10 Florida Southern Women's golf team finished fifth to open the spring season at the World Golf Invitational at the Slammer and Squire Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Clare Gimpel led the Moccasins, finishing tied-8th through three rounds of play. Gimpel shot par and had the Mocs' lowest score of the day. She finished the tournament 5-over, with a score of 221.
Kaley Amuso stayed strong, tied for 31st, with a three-round score of 229 (+13). Taylor Zachary had her best round of the tournament today with a 74. She moved up to tied-74th.
Ava La Belle and McKinley Holding rounded out the Moccasin lineup, placing tied-33rd and 64th, respectively.
The host team, Flagler, took home the team title, while Lander's Kajsa Lindqvist took home the individual title after a tie for first with Tampa's Justine Bayle. The two fought for the title in a playoff, when Linqvist won with a birdie on the fourth playoff hole.

The Moccasins are set to host the Lady Moc Classic at Grasslands Golf and Country Club on February 23-24 in Lakeland, Fla.
