LAKELAND, Fla. — After a runner-up finish in their first tournament of the spring, the Florida Southern Men's golf team moved up to fourth, and Donte Groppuso is ranked the top player in Division II in the latest Scoreboard Powered by Clippd ranking.
The Moccasins, with two wins and four top-3 finishes, are ranked #4 by Clippd. Florida Southern opens their spring slate with a scoring average of 281.6. The Mocs are also ranked third in the South region.
Eight Mocs are ranked individually by Clippd while four rank in the top 50 nationally. Graduate student, Donte Groppuso, is currently ranked first in Division II, following his individual title at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. Groppuso was ranked #42 prior to his first-place finish at Matlock, vaulting him to the top spot after competing against some of the best golfers in Division II.
Freshman Jack VanderSchuur is currently ranked #24 and Colton Swartz is ranked #30 to remain in the top-50. Max Barile stays in the rankings as #46.
The Mocs are back in action next week at the Saint Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
