LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern women's golf team improved to tied-sixth in the final round of the Lady Moc Classic at the Grasslands Golf & Country Club in Lakeland, Fla. As a team, the Mocs shot 917 (+53), and had four individuals compete in the tournament.
Six of FSC's nine golfers shot their best round of the tournament in the final round.
Ava La Belle led the Mocs with a top-15 finish, finishing tied-11th. She shot even in her final round and carded two birdies. Clare Gimpel also posted a top-15 finish, finishing tied-14th. The graduate student shot a tournament-low 73 and carded one birdie in her final round.
Taylor Zachary and McKinley Holding, who competed as an individual, both finished tied-35th, with a three-round score of 233 (+17).
Kaley Amuso and Darby Hancock rounded out the Moccasin lineup finishing tied-45th and tied-69th, respectively. Amuso shot a tournament-low 74 for a three-round score of 235 (+19).
Christina Nordlander, McKinlee Proctor, and Susie Davis all competed as individuals and finished tied-73rd, tied-84th, and tied-92nd, respectively. Nordlander and Proctor both shot 79 today, with Nordlander shooting 26-over and Proctor shooting 32-over. Davis shot a tournament-low 83 in the final round.
Barry won the team title with a three-round score of 896 (+32). Amely Bochaton (Wingate) was the individual champion, shooting a 3-under 213. Hancock shot her lowest round today, with a score of 77.
Florida Southern concluded the tournament by honoring their three seniors in their last Lady Moc Classic (Kaley Amuso, Clare Gimpel, and Taylor Zachary).
