NEW ORLEANS – Junior
Grace Reed of the Florida Southern College women's indoor track team became the first student-athlete in program history to earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region honors for indoor track. This marks Reed's second and third All-South Region selections this academic year after earning the honor following cross country season. Reed collected All-Region honors in both the 3,000m and 5,000m events.
Â
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Â
Reed posted the top-3,000m time on the team in 2026 as she set a new program record of 9:51.84 at the ACSEC Invitational. She also held the top-two 5,000m times on the team while setting a new record in the event of 17:09.01 at the Visit Gainesville Invitational.
Â
Reed is now focused on the outdoor track season where she has already secured a first place finish in her lone race of the season so far, the 1,500m at the Tampa Spartans Open.
