NORMAN, Okla. – Florida Southern men's golf was tabbed fourth in the first Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches poll of the spring announced on Friday morning.
The Mocs move up to fourth after a strong start to their spring slate, with two individual titles, one team title, and a runner-up finish through their first three tournaments. Seniors
Max Barile and
Donte Groppusso have been leading the Mocs, each with a first-place finish. Groppuso started off the spring with the title at Florida Southern's Matlock Classic, earning him the top ranking for an individual in Division II. He held on to the top-spot for three weeks before his teammate Barile shot up the rankings after his first-place finish at the Las Vegas Desert Classic.
Looking ahead, the Mocs travel up to Georgia to compete in the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate next Monday and Tuesday, before returning home to the sunshine state to play two more tournaments heading into the SSC Championship hosted by Saint Leo.
