The Florida Southern men's basketball team will compete in the NCAA Tournament. The Moccasins were selected as the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NCAA South Region Championship, which will be held at Nova Southeastern University. The Moccasins are making a third straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and will open play against No. 5 Montevallo.
Regional semifinalists from 2024-25, Florida Southern will be making its 35th trip in program history and its sixth under current head coach Mike Donnelly. The Mocs are one of three Sunshine State Conference programs represented in this year's regional, boasting a record of 48-33 all-time in NCAA postseason play, which includes two NCAA Division II national championships: the first in 1981 and the most recent in 2015. The Mocs hold a record of 16-17 in first-round games and 35-26 overall in regional competition.Â
Only the top seed in the 2025-26 South Regional is a repeat team in the top 3 from the 2025 tournament with No. 1 Nova Southeastern.
South Regional play begins on Saturday, March 14, at Rick Case Arena on the campus of Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 5 Montevallo will open play in a rematch of last year's first round game. The regional tournament will take place from March 14 to 17.
