LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida Southern (5-2) edged past No. 28 Ferris State (6-3) with a 4-3 victory on Sunday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. Florida Southern clinched the doubles point by sweeping all three matches, setting the stage for singles wins at the No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 positions.

Kennedi Brown and
Josie Holderbach opened with a commanding 6-1 win against Ayva Johnstone and Ma Hernandez Ferrer at No. 1 doubles.
Annika Berrendorf and
Jolie Miller followed with a 6-2 decision over Katherine Earnest and An Hernandez Ferrer at No. 3 doubles. The point was clinched by
Emily Jennewein and
Ronja Scheuermann, who edged out Yara Madi and Madeline Peisley 7-6(3) at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Florida Southern extended its lead when Jennewein defeated Yara Madi 7-5, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and
Diana Volkov added another point with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Ayva Johnstone at No. 5 singles. Ferris State responded with Ma Hernandez Ferrer's 6-3, 7-5 win against Miller at No. 4 singles, narrowing the margin.
Ferris State continued its comeback with Madeline Peisley's three-set triumph over Scheuermann, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3, at No. 1 singles. An Hernandez Ferrer then leveled the match for Ferris State by overcoming Berrendorf 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Florida Southern concluded the matchup with
Elin Axler's decisive 6-0, 6-0 victory over Ainzley Zulueta at No. 6 singles, ensuring the overall tie.
