ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced Florida Southern College's Carly Brodsky as the Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office this morning (Sept. 22). This is her third conference weekly award of her career.
 
Brodsky had a massive week for the Moccasins, securing two clean sheets against conference opponents. The senior goalkeeper had shutouts against Eckerd and Lynn to open conference play, marking the fifth straight shutout. The Parkland, Fla., native was the only conference keeper to finish with two shutouts this past week, finishing with eight saves on 16 shots faced. The keeper now has 19 career shutouts, tying former Moc Martina Tangen Billing (2008-11) for second in all-time career shutouts for the program. 
 
The 2025 SSC Goalkeeper of the Year has a strong start to the season with a 0.50 GAA and 23 saves in her eight starts. Facing 55 shots, Brodsky has three wins and five shutouts to keep the Mocs undefeated so far this season. Having conceded only four goals all year, Brodsky and a stellar backline keep offenses at bay while scoring nine goals on the opposite side.  
 
The Mocs will return home this weekend to host No. 21 Nova Southeastern University on Alumni Night at Berend Field this Saturday, Sept. 26, with a 7 p.m. start.
