The Moccasins improved their first-round score by four strokes in Monday's second round of the Southeastern Collegiate Tournament at Valdosta, Ga., but could only move from seventh to a tie for sixth.
A second-round team score of 288 has the Moccasins at 580, sharing sixth place with Rollins. Georgia College and State maintained its first-round lead by shooting a 283 for a team score of 568 and a three-stroke lead over second-place Nova Southeastern.
Matt Stauch had the Moccasins' best round of the day, a two-under-par 70, to put him at 142 and tied for ninth. Brian Richey is tied for 16th at 144. Jude Eustaquio is tied for 23rd at 145 and Robert Gleixner is tied for 48th at 149.
The 17-team tournament concludes Tuesday.
