After spotting the Moccasins an early lead following the doubles matches, 16th-ranked Ouachita Baptist took the final match in three sets to claim a 5-4 win over the Moccasins Monday at the FSC Courts.

The Moccasins had won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. FSC’s No. 2 team of C.J. Johnson and Nathan Leavitt was down 7-4 and faced two match points before rallying to win 9-8, taking the tiebreaker 7-2.

Ouachita Baptist, now 7-4, stormed back to win four straight singles matches and take a 4-3 lead. Nathan Leavitt pulled the Moccasins even at 4-4 at No. 5 singles when his opponent, Teodor Anghel, retired after each player had won a set. At No. 6 singles, FSC’s Robbie Palmiotto and OBU’s Ernesto Laborda split their first two sets before Laborda won the deciding set 6-1 to clinch the match.

The Moccasins, now 10-5, play Queens (N.Y.) Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the FSC Courts.
