Crouch Earns PING Division II All-South Region Honors

NORMAN, Okla. - Florida Southern senior Tim Crouch added to his postseason accolades on Tuesday afternoon as the Mount Vernon, Ohio, native was named to the NCAA Division II PING All-South Region Team chosen by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The PING All-South Region Team consists of 21 players, 16 of which came from Sunshine State Conference schools. In addition to the SSC, the five other players selected came from Gulf South Conference schools.

Crouch earns repeat PING All-South Region honors after earning repeat All-SSC honors and qualifying as an individual for this year's NCAA Division II National Championships, which is currently underway at the Meadows at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich. On the season, Crouch, who is the defending NCAA D-II National Champion medalist, leads the Moccasins with a 72.07 scoring average in 29 rounds of golf and 10 tournaments. On the season, Crouch has recorded three Top 10 finishes, including taking home medalist honors at this season's South/Southeast Super Regional. At the super regional, Crouch, shot a six-under par 210 to win by one shot over Saint Leo's Ryan Gendron and earn one of two spots as an individual in this year's national championships. He has had 16 rounds of par or better, including shooting a season-best 66 (5-under) at the second round of the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational.  

In his four-year career as a Moc, Crouch, who earned All-American honors in 2013 and was named the SSC Male Athlete of the Year and the Polk County Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year and Hal Smeltzly Award winner as FSC's Male Athlete of the Year a year ago, has a career scoring average of 73.50 in 109 rounds of golf and 37 tournaments. In his career, he has had 10 Top 10 finishes, including five last season and became the seventh Moccasin golfer to win an individual NCAA Division II National Championship in 2013.

Crouch and Gendron are joined on the PING NCAA Division II All-South Region Team by Florida Tech's Ray Badenhorst, Barry's Mario Beltran, Lynn's Martin Cancino, West Florida's Esteban Castro, Barry's Jared Dalga, West Georgia's Corey Evans, Nova Southeastern's Mitch Farrer, North Alabama's Conner Godsey, Nova Southeastern's Santiago Gomez, Lynn's Keith Greene, West Florida's Juan Miguel Heredia, Florida Tech's Justin Kalanquin, Nova Southeastern's Hunter O'Mahony, Barry's Scott Smyers, Rollins' Emil Sorebo, Barry's Adam Svensson, Lee University's Hunter Vest, Lynn's Ernesto Vitienes and Lynn's Elliot Whitley.

Barry and Lynn led the way with four overall selections, while Nova Southeastern had four selections and West Florida and Florida Tech have each had two honorees.
