PENSACOLA - Florida Southern opened its five-game northern Florida road trip with a 6-3 loss at the hands of Alabama-Huntsville Friday morning in a match played at the University of West Florida.
Fabian Lundberg and Laurent Mailloux posted the lone Mocs win in doubles, recording an 8-5 victory in number one doubles over the Chargers team of Pablo Herrero and Ian Wisener. Charles Garneau and Brian Slivonik fell in number two doubles to Jose Soto and Elliot Hopson while Arthur Viallaniex and Derek Bell lost to Nestor Perez and Harrison Stone. Both the number two and three doubles matches were decided by 8-5 scores.
In the singles, Viallaneix downed UAH's David Cooper by 6-4 and 6-0 scores at the number three spot while Brian Slivonik, playing at number six, picked up the Mocs' only other singles win with a 6-2, 1-6, 10-5 tally over Stone.
The Mocs play again tonight at 5:00 at West Florida, facing Christian Brothers before facing top-ranked West Florida Saturday at 10 a.m. in Pensacola.
