LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024-25 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Teams have been released, with four from Florida Southern College selected.
The Academic All-District Team recipients for Division II include Florida Southern's
Bosko Boskovic, Chris Fok Kow, Sam Frizelle, and
Mario Garoz. This is the third consecutive selection for Fok Kow and the first CSC academic award for Boskovic, Garoz, and Frizelle.
Boskovic had a great year for the Mocs, with an 8-2 record at the #6 court during FSC's run to the first round of NCAA regionals. The sophomore from Toronto, Canada, added five wins in doubles to his record, as a key player in the FSC lineup. His wins in singles included a win against No. 2 Flagler to start the season, No. 23 Emporia State, and No. 12 Embry-Riddle.
Fok Kow most recently earned his second-straight SSC First Team Singles selection after a 17-3 overall record, 14-3 at the #2 court. The senior from Balaclava, Mauritius, went 6-1 in his last 10 matches, winning the last three. In doubles, he paired with Garoz for an SSC Second Team selection and a 16-9 record at the #1 court. They went 5-3 against nationally ranked pairings.
Frizelle finished the 2025 season a 12-10 record at the #1 court, an even 4-4 in his last 10 matches. The junior from Lutz, Fla., added 14 wins in doubles, all at the #3 court paired with
George Russell and
Matthew Hewitt during that time. His season had a big start with a two-set win over No. 3 Saint Leo's #1 court player and a nationally ranked win over No. 71 Kevin Kovacs of No. 41 Ferris State. Frizelle finished the season ranked No. 73 in DII singles.
Garoz, a junior from Toledo, Spain, was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Athlete of the Year earlier this month as he tallied a 22-3 overall record in the spring season. He sported a 19-3 record at #3 singles and 3-0 at #2 singles, including a 6-1 performance in conference matches. Garoz went 16-9 in the #1 spot in doubles play with partner Fok Kow, most recently ranked No. 18 in ITA doubles. As a singles player, Garoz was ranked No. 41.
