Moccasins Notch Fourth Consecutive Win, Top Chestnut Hill, 8-1.

LAKELAND – Florida Southern continued to roll with an 8-1 victory over visiting Chestnut Hill to pick up a fourth straight win here Tuesday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.

The Moccasins set the tone early with a sweep of the doubles competition as FSC's Laurent Mailloux and Miguel Alvarez-Hevia downed Chestnut Hill's Ducent and Kohler, 8-3, at number one. Jose de Sario and Brian Slivonik kept the express rolling with a 8-2 victory at number two over Reglin and Becoletto while Oscar Soderlund and Derek Bell completed the sweep with an 8-3 tally over Gavin and Oranges de 

"Doubles dominated early and finished decisively," said FSC Coach Trey Heath.

In number one singles, Fabian Lundberg posted a 6-1, 6-3 over Becoletto while Slivonik sealed the win for the 4-2 Moccasins with an 6-1, 7-5 win against Decetot at number four. Kohler then picked up Chestnut Hill's sole win with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Mailloux at number two. 

Rounding out the rest of the Moccasin singles wins were Alavera-Hevia, who downed Regalin 3-6, 6-2 (10-4) at number three; Soderlund beating Gavin, 3-6, 6-2 (10-5) at number five; and Arthur Viallaneix topping Abe, 6-1, 6-1, at number six.

Florida Southern travels to Boca Raton on Saturday to face Lynn at 10 a.m. in the Mocs' first Sunshine State Conference match of the season.
