DADE CITY, FLA. – Behind a one-under par performance from Loren Perez, the Florida Southern College women's golf team won the 2019 Saint Leo Invitational, easily outdistancing second place Tampa by seven strokes. The event was held at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
Perez claimed Medalist honors for the two-round event with a combined even par, 144. Her one-under 71 in Round Two tied for the low round of the day. Through 36 holes, she made birdie nine times.
Amanda Gartrell and Nathalie Svensson each carded +4, 148, for the event, and tied for the fourth place. Both Gartrell and Svensson took advantage of nine birdies apiece.
Shelby Lewis made 71 today, dropping her to +6 for the tournament, and a share of 12th place. Lacey Tucker rounded out the Florida Southern contingent at nine over, 153, including 26 pars.
This is the first championship title this season for the Mocs, who have previously finished second twice, and third one this fall.
