NORMAN, Okla. – Florida Southern College Men's Golf closes the fall in eighth in the latest Bushnell/Golf Division II Coaches Poll (Oct. 27). The Moccasins received 330 points with one first place vote and shifted up from a 10
th place in last week's poll.

Florida Southern concluded its fall portion of the 2023-24 season at the Copperhead Championship where the Mocs placed eighth of 16 teams with a team score of 874 (+22) on the par-71 7,209-yard Copperhead course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.
Adam Alvarez paced the team with a 14
th place finish at two-over 215.

The Mocs played in four tournaments this fall with two wins, the NCAA National Championship Preview and the NSU Shark Invitational, where Alvarez won his second collegiate tournament at the National Preview at 10-under 206.

Florida Southern entered the year receiving 35 votes in the national poll before climbing into the top-10. Sitting behind Sunshine State Conference foes, Barry (no. 1), Nova Southeastern (No. 2), Saint Leo (T-20), and Tampa (No. 25), in the first poll of the year, the Mocs then went to post a 11-1 record against the four during fall play to sit as the highest team in the SSC.

The Moccasins return to action in February 2024 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla. on the fourth and fifth. Florida Southern eyes a postseason run starting on April 21-23 for the Sunshine State Conference tournament before the NCAA South/Southeast Regional May 7-11.
