Anthony Matthew led the way as he surpassed
Mason Jones' (2018-22) previous 1500m freshman record by just 37 hundredths of a second while earning a top-five finish at the meet.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Freshman Anthony Matthew led a group of six Moccasins in the 1500m. The rookie made his mark on the FSC record book in his very first outdoor track meet as he posted a time of 3:56.11 in the event to take fourth overall and surpass Mason Jones' freshman record of 3:56.48 which he set at UCF back in 2018. Joining Matthew in the top-five Saturday was senior Alex Guy who finished one spot back in fifth at 3:56.55. Another freshman, Christian Giller, turned in a time of 4:09.54 to earn 16th overall while sophomore Jaylen Caneus rounded out the top-20 in 20th with a time of 4:11.50. The final two Moccasin finishers in the event were freshman Nathaniel Goetz (27th, 4:19.38) and junior Tyler Gulluscio (36th, 4:42.13).
- Freshman Luke Reeves led the way in a pair of events. He was the lone Moc in the 400m where he placed fourth overall at 52.89. He then led a group of three in the 800m. Reeves took 20th in the two-lap race as he clocked in at 2:10.16. Goetz was the next Moccasin finisher in 22nd at 2:11.01 while Gulluscio placed 24th at 2:13.80.
- Sophomore James Simpson led the way in the 3000m as he took 12th overall while completing the distance in 9:19.38. Freshman Karl van Gelder was the next to cross the line in 14th at 9:23.81 while fellow freshman Luke Kaelin rounded out the FSC finishers in 19th after crossing the line in 9:30.04.
- In the final event of the night the Mocs took fourth overall in the 4x400m relay. At time of publication senior Billy Adams, junior Owen Allen, sophomore Seth Augustynowski and freshman Caleb Brady are credited with competing and turning in a time of 3:54.38.
