ALBANY, Ga. – Florida Southern men's golf concluded play at the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southwestern, at Doublegate Country Club in 10
th place with a team score of 881 (+17).
The Moccasins as a team had 162 pars and 42 birdies over the 54 hole event, led by
Adam Alvarez who finished with 34 pars and 10 birdies while taking 22nd place on the par-72 7,024-yard course. Alvarez carded a final round 74 (+2) to finish at even-par for the tournament at 216.
Tyler Mistretta made a big jump on the final day and fired off the team-low of the tournament with a three-under 69 Tuesday to finish at two-over 218 for the tournament. Mistretta made six birdies and 9 pars over the final 18 to close the tournament with 32 pars and 12 birdies and in 28
th place.
Freddie Parlby finished third on the team and in 39
th place at 223 (+7) following a final round 74 (+2).
Clay Tucker placed 55
th out of the 90-player field at 224 (+8) while
Max Barile rounded out the Mocs in the field in 77
th place at 233 (+17).
No. 6 Reece Coleman (Anderson, SC) hung on for the one-stroke win at 209 (-7) after a charge from Tampa's Jonty Marshall who fired a 68 (-4) Tuesday to finish in a three way tie for second. No. 6 North Georgia captured the team title at 14-under 850 for the tournament with a final round 281 (-7). No. 10 Georgia Southwestern finished with the low round of the day at 278 (-1).
