DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Southern men's track team opened up action at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Moccasins were led by senior
Alex Guy who took the top spot in the 1500m while running a season best.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Senior Alex Guy led a group of 10 Moccasins in the 1500m. The senior took first overall while crossing the finish line in 3:54.32. Junior Bryson Yamnitz earned a top-10 finish as well as he took sixth overall in 3:57.27. Freshmen Chris Colavita and Caleb Brady earned top-20 finishes as well. Colavita took 13th after crossing the line in 4:01.79 while Brady finished five spots back in 18th at 4:05.62. The parade of freshmen continued as rookie Karl van Gelder finished 22nd while stopping the clock at 4:06.46. Sophomore Aiden Redmond finished four spots behind van Gelder in 26th with a time of 4:08.42. The final four finishers for the Mocs included freshman Christian Giller (35th, 4:11.08), sophomore Seth Augustynowski (36th, 4:11.19), junior Luke Dickinson (39th, 4:12.74) and sophomore Caden Kwiatkowski (45th, 4:15.11).
- Freshman Luke Kaelin led the way for the Mocs in the 5000m as he took 18th overall while posting a time of 16:01.84. Freshman Nathaniel Goetz came across next as he took 26th after crossing the finish in 16:17.00. The final Moc to finish was junior Tyler Gulluscio who took 59th overall with a time of 17:32.08.
- Senior David Pautienus was the lone Moccasin in the 10000m as he finished fifth overall with a time of 34:42.87.
