LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College women's golf will host the annual Lady Moc Classic Feb. 19-20 at Grassland Golf and Country Club in Lakeland. The Moccasins are the 27th-ranked team in the latest collegiate ranking system by Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
 
Sixteen teams will embark on Grasslands for the annual tournament, which features nine teams ranked inside the top-25 by Clippd highlighted by No. 1 Nova Southeastern, No. 2 Rollins, No. 7 Anderson (SC), No. 8 Flagler, and No. 10 Lynn inside the top-10 of the rankings.
 
The three top individual athletes to watch for at this year's tournament are No. 3 Stella Jelinek (Flagler), No. 5 Ellen Andersson (NSU), and No. 6 Berni Villalba (Rollins).
 
Closing out the field of 16 along with the five teams inside the top 10 are Saint Leo (#13), Limestone (#20), North Georgia (#22), Tampa (#23), Florida Southern (#27), Eckerd (#29), Embry-Riddle (#37), West Florida (#40), Palm Beach Atlantic (#68), Ashland (#86), and Columbus State (#97).
 
Scoring will be conducted on GolfStat ( HERE ) with an 8 am shotgun start on Monday and Tuesday.
 
Florida Southern opened the spring season with a ninth-place finish at the World Golf Invitational (916, +52) where the group was led by Ava La Belle who placed 17^th out of 92 golfers with a 54-hole score of 226 (+10). La Belle registered 75, 77, and 74 rounds throughout the tournament.

After the Lady Moc Classic, the Moccasins will play in three more tournaments before the Sunshine State Conference Championship. Florida Southern will travel to Orlando, Fla. for the annual Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial (March 11-12) before going to Miami Lakes, Fla. for the BarryU Women's Invitational (March 18-19). The Mocs close the regular season with a second edition of the Lady Moc Classic (2.0) on April 1-2.
