LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024 Academic All-District men's tennis team has been announced with
Chris Fok Kow and
Mario Garoz from the Florida Southern College named to the list.

Fok Kow repeats as an All-District winner after last year's honor. Fok Kow amassed a career-high 17 wins in singles during the 2024 season, including a big two-set win over No. 8 Thiel of Saint Leo in yesterday's NCAA regional matchup. He went 5-2 against nationally ranked opponents, with most of his wins (13) at the #2 court for singles. The senior from Balaclava, Mauritius, had an incredible year highlighted by the first All-SSC First Team mention since 2013 for the Moccasins men's tennis program. Fok Kow also had three SSC weekly awards in 2024, a new program best. With a 6-1 record in the conference, Fok Kow had one of the best overall records in the league in singles and ranked 24th in the nation in the latest ITA rankings. Fok Kow went 14-7 for doubles, all at the #1 court, with a 13-5 record when paired with Garoz for an All-SSC First Team doubles honor.

Garoz was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in his career. The sophomore ended his 2024 campaign with an incredible overall record and a team-best 18 wins. He went 15-3 at the #3 court and 3-1 at the #2 court, with a 4-1 record against nationally ranked opponents. The Toledo, Spain native repeated as All-SSC Second Team in singles and earned his first recognition in doubles paired with Fok Kow for a First Team nod. Garoz also went 14-7 overall in doubles, and 13-5 when paired with Fok Kow at the #1 court with four conference wins.

The Mocs ended the 2024 season with a first-round exit in the NCAA regionals after a narrow 4-3 loss to No. 1 Saint Leo yesterday afternoon. FSC finished with a 15-9 record, the second straight year with 15 wins in the season. The NCAA appearance was the 21
st in program history and first since a 2022 invite.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4 (women) and June 5 (men).
