INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 15 Florida Southern College men's swimming team opened the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships with a strong day at the IU Natatorium on Wednesday.

The Moccasins sit in sixth place overall with 50 points in FSC's first day of swimming events, highlighted by a new program record in the 200 medley relay. The leader is Drury University with 151 points.

Brandon Wilson and
Nino Viallon were the sole Moccasins that made it to the evening finals, both participating in the 50 free. Viallon went first and placed second in the consolation final with a time of 19.87. Wilson went next, representing the Mocs in the A final, finishing eighth overall with a time of 19.94.

For the final event of the day, a team of Mocs placed third in the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:24.87 by a team of Wilson, Viallon,
Janek Barczyk, and
Matheus Da Rocha. Their third-place time broke their previous FSC and then-SSC record of 1:25.51 set at the SSC Championships last month.

In prelims,
Peter Csicsaky competed in the morning heats of the 1000 free, finishing with a time of 9:23.28 for 31
st overall. Wilson and Viallon made the 50 free evening finals after great morning swims, led by Wilson's 19.49 time, a new personal best and good for third in prelims. Viallon made the B final after a 19.96 time.

The Mocs will have three events tomorrow, beginning with the 100 fly (Viallon) and 200 free (Csicsaky) preliminaries at 10 a.m. The Mocs will then have the 400 medley relay as part of the evening finals beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the IU Natatorium.
