LAKELAND, Fla. – The reigning NCAA Division II National Champion Florida Southern Men's Golf team has announced their 2026-27 season schedule in pursuit of the program's 15th National Championship. 

"Winning the program's 14th NCAA Championship in May was a massive achievement," stated Mocs' head coach Brian Richey '09, "and it is a testament to the culture, character, and relentless work ethic our guys brought to the course every single day. We loved celebrating that moment, but our mindset is focused on what's in front of us this season. We are excited to share our 2026-2027 schedule."

The Mocs open up the 2026-27 campaign in late September at the National Preview hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic on September 28th and 29th. The National Preview will take place at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., the site of the 2027 DII National Championship. The Mocs will open October by traveling up to Albany, Ga. for the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Georgia Southwestern on October 5th and 6th at the Doublegate Country Club. 

The team will return to the Sunshine State for the Copperhead Championship at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor hosted by Saint Leo on October 12 and 13th. Florida Southern closes out the fall up in South Carolina at the Golfweek Fripp Island Invite at the Fripp Island Resort. 

"We intentionally built a highly competitive, demanding schedule because we want to see where we stack up against the best fields in the country week after week," said Richey. "With the 2027 postseason being played in Florida, we want to play as many tournaments as we can on Bermuda grass. Several of the tournament venues on our schedule are PGA Tour tournament and qualifying sites. It will be valuable to play The National Preview (PGA National-Champions) and The St. Leo Invitational (Lake Jovita-South) during the regular season. I can attribute so much success at last year's NCAA Championship to our two previous spring season trips during the Las Vegas Desert Classic (Boulder Creek GC)."

The Mocs open up the spring slate at home for the Matlock Collegiate Classic. The annual home tournament will be hosted at the Lone Palm Golf Club on February 8th and 9th. They will then compete the next weekend (February 15th and 16th)  at the Saint Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club, also home of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional. The Mocs remain in Florida for the Lynn Invitational on March 1st and 2nd at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton, before traveling out of state one final time for the season. 

Florida Southern's final out-of-state tournament takes place in Valdosta, Ga., as the Mocs will compete in the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate on March 15th and 16th at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club hosted by Valdosta. 

The Mocs will compete in South Florida for their final two tournaments of the regular season, the Shark Invitational (March 22nd and 23rd) hosted by Nova Southeastern at the Grande Oaks Golf Club, and the Battle at the Lakes (April 5th and 6th) hosted by Barry at the Miami Lakes Golf Club. 
The defending back-to-back Sunshine State Conference champions will be in pursuit of a three-peat, with the Sunshine State Conference Championship April 18th through 20th at a course to be determined. Last season, the Mocs won their second straight SSC Tournament title, with Colton Swartz as the individual conference champion. 

The NCAA South/Southeast Regional is set for May 6th through 8th at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla., for the Mocs to compete for a bid to the National Championship. 

The 2027 NCAA Division II National Championship is set to take place May 17th through 21st at PGA National, as Florida Southern looks for its 15th title in program history. 

"Our philosophy this season is not about defending a championship, it is about attacking a brand-new year with the same hunger that led to that success," said Richey. "We have a tremendous amount of returning talent that have tournament and postseason experience. We've added a strong group of newcomers with 2 transfers and 4 freshmen. I'm excited to watch them push each other in qualifying and practice to earn their positions in the starting lineup. Our roster is so talented and hungry to get to work. Our focus stays locked in on mastering the details, taking care of our everyday preparation, and playing our brand of golf. We can't wait to get out there and represent Florida Southern."
