The Moccasins wrapped up the Sunshine State Conference portion of the regular season with a 7-2 win over Florida Tech Friday at Melbourne.
The win gave FSC a final SSC record of 4-2 and boosted their overall record to 12-7. Florida Tech dropped to 14-7, 2-3 in the SSC.
Winning two of the three doubles matches gave the 19th-ranked Moccasins an early 2-1 lead, then they claimed five of the six singles matches. Roman Schirmaier at No. 1 and Nicolas Bigler at No. 3 won their matches in straight sets, then C.J. Johnson applied the clincher with a three-set win at No. 5. Ben Taylor at No. 4 and and Guenther Fercher at No. 2 followed with victories to close out the match.
The Moccasins finish the regular season Tuesday at Palm Beach Atlantic.ÂÂ
