The Moccasins won their first match in the NCAA Preliminary Round at Lynn Thursday, topping Florida Tech 5-2.

Roman Schirmaier and Ben Taylor, playing as a doubles team at No. 1 for the first time, won their match 9-8 to give FSC a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition.

Taylor won his singles match at No. 3, as did Brian deMontfort at No. 6, then C.J. Johnson produced the clinching win at No. 5 singles.

The Moccasins are now 15-9 and will meet top-seeded Lynn Friday at 1 p.m. in their next match.
