SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Southern men's swimming team win their fourth meet in a row as they defeat Saint Leo University Saturday afternoon.
The Mocs won with a commanding 187-75 team score against the Lions after a win against ranked Tampa last night. The FSC men's team is ranked #10 in the CSCAA Preseason Poll.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Michael Fernandez, Cameron Lai-Harris, and Ethan Oliva took first through third in the 50 yard freestyle
- In a close 100 yard freestyle event, Elder Oliveira took second with Fernandez with a close third
- Oliveira was the sole first place finisher in a 200 yard freestyle
- For the 500 yard freestyle, Keith Peristeridis and Milosz Mencel took first and second
- Peristeridis followed up with a win in the 1000 yard freestyle, with Cole Smith in third
- Brandon Dyck took first in the 50 and 100 yard backstroke, with Brandon Wilson taking third in each
- Freshman Ludovico Viberti was first in the 50 and 100 breaststroke
- Ludwig Mueller finished second and Bryce Johnson in third for the 50 yard breaststroke, while Mueller finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke
- JJ Saslo took home the 50 and 100 yard butterfly, with Lai-Harris in second for the 50 yard and Theo Peristeridis in second for the 100
- A full Mocs sweep in the 200 yard IM with Dyck, Miguel Bernotti, and Jacob Tuckerman as 1-3
- For the relays, two teams finished in second in third for the 400 yard freestyle, and two teams finished first and third for the 200 yard medley
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Mocs had five different student-athletes finish in first of an event during the meet
- Team of Dyck, Viberti, Saslo, and Fernandez took first in the 200 yard medley relay
- K. Peristeridis, Dyck, Viberti, and Saslo each had at least two event wins on the afternoon
- Dyck led the team with three event wins
