LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's swimming team claimed two separate victories against visiting Saint Leo University, 94-25, and 53-49, on Friday afternoon, at the Hollis Wellness Center Pool, on FSC's campus.
Freshman Ludwig Mueller was the sole double-winner on the day, claiming the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Meet 1:
· The Mocs got off to a fast start, with the "A" 200-free relay team of junior Ethan Oliva, sophomore Luka Prostran, junior Holt Ragsdale, and freshman Boris Mitev swimming unopposed.
· In the 50-yard sprint, freshmen Kyle Micallef and Cameron Lai-Harris finished 1-2. Micallef swam a 20.00, with Lai-Harris touching the wall in 20.79.
· Elder Luna Santos de Oliveira won the 1,000-free in 9:16.54, before seniors Carlos Bernotti and Miguel Bernotti finished 1-2 in the 200-free.
· Senior Brandon Dyck and Lai-Harris finished 1-2 in the 100-back, with Dyck finishing in 48.12
· Mueller won the 100-breast in 56.67, before junior Theo Peristeridis closed out the first meet with a victory in the 200-fly, with a time of 1:51.76.
Meet 2:
· To begin the second meet of the day, Carlos Bernotti placed second in the 100-free, in 45.78, just .43 seconds from the win.
· Senior Calvin Giang then took second in the 200-backbefore Muller and Mitev placed 1-2 in the 200-breast.
· Senior Matias Lopez was the last winner on the day for the Mocs, winning the 400-IM in 3:53.97.
