RICHMOND, Va. - The Florida Southern College men and women's swimming teams have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team. The men and women posted GPAs of 3.64 and 3.71 respectively to earn the honors.
In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted Florida Southern's achievements noting, "Coach
Andy Robins has done a tremendous job. These 46 men and women are some of the best ambassadors that Florida Southern and the Sunshine State Conference could ask for."
The men's swimming team had 11 athletes earn a 4.0 in the Fall 2021 term as
Niko Frese, Kyle Micallef, Elder Oliveira, Ludwig Mueller, Theo Peristeridis, Ethan Oliva, Luka Prostran, JJ Saslo, Brandon Wilson, Cole Smith, and
Matteo Zampese were named on the list. Another 11 athletes on the women's team earned a 4.0 last semester as well:
Brooke Brennan, Allie Brinton, Morgan Champagne, Janie Davis, Kris Davis, Genevieve Kennedy, Molly Kennedy, Teagan Michalek, Olivia Miles, Grace Sill, and
Stephanie Suarez.
