CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Florida Southern College swimming teams finish day one of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Swimming Championships Wednesday night at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
The Mocs competed in the 800-yard freestyle relay as the sole event taking place Wednesday night. The men's team finished fifth and 10
th, as the women take sixth and 11
th.
The B team for Florida Southern men included
Keith Peristeridis, Cole Smith, Ludovico Viberti, and
Miguel Bernotti and finished with a time of 6:42.68. Team A included
Milosz Mencel, Niko Frese, Luka Prostran, and
Elder Oliveira who finished fifth in the finals with a 6:36.74 time.
On the women's side, the Moccasins had a team of
Olivia Miles, Lanier Whitton, Allie Brinton, and
Emily Peck who finished 11
th with a time of 7:42.13. The second team representing Florida Southern was a sixth-place finish by
Maja Eriksson, Erin McCann, Morgan Misenar, and
Jazzy Hoffmann with a 7:34.65 time.
Winners of the 800-yard freestyle relay were Nova Southeastern in first place, with Tampa and Saint Leo in second and third respectively for the men's competition. On the women's side, Nova Southeastern again won, with Tampa and Lynn as the second and third place recipients.
