Six Top-10 Finishes Open Men's Indoor Track at the Florida Collegiate Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Southern men's track team opened the weekend at the Florida Collegiate Invitational with six top-10 finishes in two events on Friday afternoon.

TOP PERFORMERS

• Freshman Timothy Schultz led the men's team to its first 1,000m event in indoor track competition with a time of 2:33.69, placing him fourth overall. Schultz was just behind the third-place finisher with just over a second. The Mocs freshman Dillon Mantei also competed in the 1K, crossing the line with a time of 2:42.38 finishing in the top 10 at ninth. 
• In the 5,000m, Christian Giller led a host of Moccasins in the top 10 with a third-place finish in a time of 14:37.27, good for second all-time in FSC indoor history. Other top finishes included Chris Colavita (14:50.98) and Alex Guy (14:53.49), who went back-to-back for sixth and seventh place, respectively, and each in the top five of the FSC indoor track record book. The final top 10 Moccasin was Bryson Yamnitz in ninth place with a time of 15:02.57.
• Florida Southern had three additional runners finish in the top 20 with Luke Kaelin in 14th with a time of 15:34.34 and Connor Brooks (15:49.92) and Luke Dickinson (15:57.08) followed with 16th and 17th place respectively. 
• A pair of Mocs also finished outside the top 20 in the 5,000m as freshman Timothy Schultz finished 21st in 16:35.41 and Dillon Mantei in 27th with a time of 17:04.14.
