LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis team continued its fall schedule competing in the YTF Invite this past weekend at the Beerman Family Tennis Center.

The Mocs had several players compete in the three-day competition, including two rounds of 32 brackets (A & B brackets).
Sam Frizelle and
Mario Garoz advanced to the main A final and
Hunter Nussbaum made it to the main B final to highlight the weekend action.

FSC had 10 players represented in the A bracket as Frizelle,
Chris Fok Kow, and Garoz won their matches in two sets.
Edoardo Melindo, Gabriel Jornert, Reese Hilsen, Matthew Hewitt, Bosko Boskovic, and
Elliott Altman lost their opening round of 32 matchup to move to the consolation rounds.

Fok Kow won the next round of the A bracket but lost in a tiebreak third set in the quarterfinals while Frizelle and Garoz each won out their rounds to the final and facing each other. In the A bracket consolation rounds, Altman lost his quarterfinal matchup, as did Hewitt, though Melindo won to advance and play teammate Boskovic in the consolation final. Boskovic won that consolation final 8-3.

In the B bracket, Nussbaum and
Jaden Thompson represented the Mocs. Nussbaum advanced to the main B final, while Thompson won his consolation matches to win the consolation final from a withdrawn player.

In doubles, Frizelle and Nussbaum made it to the quarterfinals before an 8-5 loss. Boskovic and Melindo paired to win their first round but lost 8-3 to a Saint Leo pairing.
Ryan Rajakar and Jornert teamed up for a quarterfinal appearance with an 8-4 loss. Other first-round wins included Hewitt and
Onur Turgut, and Garoz and Fok Kow.

The Mocs will finish the fall schedule by competing in the ERAU Invite, hosted by Embry-Riddle, on Nov. 1-3 in Daytona Beach.
