FT. PIERCE, Fla. – After day two of competition, the No. 21 Florida Southern College men's swimming team is in third place in the IRSC Invite, hosted by Indian River State College at the Anne Wilder Aquatic Complex.

The Moccasins are in third place with 561 points, behind IRSC in first with 824 points, and St. Thomas University in second with 586 points. Rollins College (443 points) and Barry University (135 points) are in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Prelim events began with the 400 IM, as
Niko Frese led FSC swimmers in fifth overall in a time of 4:03.72.
Thomas Wooldridge (12
th) and
Bennett Baer (13
th) also made an evening cut. In the 100 fly,
Nino Viallon had a 47.45 morning race for first among all heats. He was joined by
Tristan Clanton for the A final after placing sixth in 49.41.
Brandon Wilson, Janek Barczyk, and
William Eriksson also had top 20 times.

For the 200 free prelims,
Clyde Crouse was fifth in 1:40.14, followed by
John Zeiger (1:40.78) and Frese (1:40.88) to make the A final.
Daniel Cushing and
Gianni Famiano also had top 16 times for the B final. Barczyk then led the Mocs in the 100 breast in third with a time of 54.82.
Reese Whelan made the A final with a time of 56.82.
Shawn Erdley and
Cooper Krance were B finalists after the morning prelims. The final morning event was the 100 back with Wilson second in 48.97 and
Michael Tretyakov in sixth in 49.87. Eriksson.
Corbin Cole, Matheus Da Rocha, and
William King all had top 20 times.

The Friday finals opened with the 200 medley relay as a team of Wilson, Barczyk, Viallon, and Da Rocha finished second in 1:28.13. Frese took the top FSC time in the 400 IM with fifth place in a time of 4:01.51. A big event win for Viallon in the 100 fly with a time of 47.50 with teammate Clanton seventh in 49.57. The top Moc in the 200 free was Zeiger in sixth with a time of 1:39.36, followed by Crouse in 1:39.92.

Just outside of a podium spot, Barczyk and Whelan went back-to-back in the 100 breast for fourth and fifth-place times of 55.28 and 56.21. A strong presence in the 100 back for FSC with Wilson in second in 48.95 and Tretyakov in third with 49.16. The final event of the night was the 800 free relay as a team of Frese, Crouse, Cushing, and Zeiger finished fourth in 6:42.08.

The final day of events will take place tomorrow, Nov. 23, with prelims at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m., all at the Anne Wilder Aquatic Complex.
