#16 Mocs Win Another Relay; Wilson Retains 100 Back Championship

FSC won its third consecutive relay event and Brandon Wilson retains his 100 back championship

OCALA, Fla. - The No. 16 Florida Southern College men's swimming team continued to dominate the relays as the Mocs sit in second overall after day four of the Sunshine State Conference Championships at the F.A.S.T. Center. 
 
The Moccasins sit in second place with 460 points, only behind the University of Tampa with 641.5 points. The highlight of the day was yet another relay win, the third consecutive night, by the Mocs and Brandon Wilson retaining his 100 backstroke championship in back-to-back years.

In prelims, Peter Csicsaky qualified for the evening A final after a time of 4:28.66 for sixth overall. Making the B final, Daniel Cushing, Bennett Baer, and Thomas Wooldridge. Other FSC swimmers in the morning 500 included Clyde Crouse. In the 100 back, Wilson had the best time of 47.25, with Michael Tretyakov (48.42) and William Eriksson (48.55) also making the A final. John Zeiger made the B final cut, with Matheus Da Rocha just outside in 17th overall. 
 
FSC had another big morning swim in the 100 breast as Janek Barczyk had the best time of 53.93, with Travis Oleson making the B final after a 56.73 time. Reese Whelan (19th) and Shawn Erdley (20th) represented the Mocs in the top 20 of the morning heats. In the 200 fly, Tristan Clanton made the A final after a time of 1:48.63. Walter Christman also swan the 200 fly and finished 22nd overall. 
 
For the evening finals, Csicsaky was fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:26.67, with Cushing in 11th (4:30.94), Baer 13th (4:31.11), and Wooldridge 15th (4:36.07). In the 100 back, Wilson successfully defended his title with a 46.75 win. Tretyakov finished seventh in the A final (48.64), along with Eriksson in eighth (48.89). Zeiger competed in the B final and finished 13th with 49.68.
 
In the 100 breast, Barczyk was just outside the podium in fourth with 53.86, and Oleson in 14th with 56.40. The final individual event was the 200 fly as Clanton was seventh with 1:48.34. The last event of the night was the 200 free relay as a team of Da Rocha, Wilson, Will Neville, and Nino Viallon finished first in 1:19.36


The Mocs will wrap up the 2025 conference championships with the following events: 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 1650 free, and the 400 free relay, all at the F.A.S.T. Center.
