ORLANDO, Fla. – Graduate student
Mitchell Kozik became the third Florida Southern men's and women's track athlete to set a school this season as he took down his own 3,000m steeplechase mark while taking second at the Knights Invite Friday night on the campus of UCF. The Mocs competed in four events Friday night with the women seeing action in the 1500m and the men taking on the 1500m, 5000m and 3000m steeplechase.

FLORIDA SOUTHERN WOMEN:
- Freshman Emma Mussante led a group of five Moccasins in the 1500m. The Middleburg, Fla. native took 16th overall while posting a time of 4:54.08. Sophomore Carolina Titus was the next Moc finisher as she placed 22nd with a time of 4:58.63. Finishing two spots back in 24th was freshman Marisa Kortright who crossed the line in 5:01.30. Freshmen Julia Svartstrom and Mya Stam placed 26th and 27th, respectively, with Svartstrom clocking in at 5:04.77 and Stam coming across in 5:05.29.

FLORIDA SOUTHERN MEN:
- One week removed from posting the third fastest 3,000m steeplechase time in program history at the Lee Invitational, graduate student Mitchell Kozik broke his own school record in the event at the Knights Invite. Kozik took second overall with a time of 9:18.45 which surpassed his previous mark of 9:19.21 which he ran last season at the North Florida Invitational. Junior Brady Zimmerman helped pace Kozik early in the race and ended up finishing 15th overall after crossing the finish in 10:24.27.
- Graduate student Joshua Wagner led the way in the 1500m as he posted the 10th fastest time in program history while finishing fifth with a time of 3:54.15. Junior Alex Guy earned a top-10 finish as he crossed the line in 10th at 4:00.23. Freshman Caden Kwiatkowski clocked in at 4:12.10 to take 31st while sophomore Noah Ellenback completed the distance in 4:16.66 to place 39th.
- Freshmen Seth Augustynowski and Aiden Redmond were the final two Mocs on the track as they both competed in the 5000m. Augustynowski crossed the finish in 30th with a time of 16:13.94 while Redmond placed 41st in 16:44.96.
