MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced the inaugural 2023 Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week as Florida Southern College's
Chris Fok Kow. The player of the week selection is the first since 2020 in program history.
Fok Kow had a great season opener as the Mocs won their season opener 6-1 against Gustavus Adolphus and the first win for head coach
Rhett Rollyson. The junior from Pamplemousses won his doubles flight alongside
Matteo Feggi with a score of 6-3 against Gustavus Adolphus, the No. 17 DIII team from Minnesota.
In singles, Fok Kow dropped the first points of the first set but persevered to win 6-3. He went on to win set two with a score of 6-4 at the #1 court and clinched the match-deciding point for the Mocs. The captain for FSC had a great fall and earned his spot at the #1 court to start the 2023 season.
The Mocs take on No. 12 Lynn University this afternoon, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. with a matchup against No. 1 Barry on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. Both matches will be at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center in Lakeland, Fla.
