B.J. LEACH
Baseball, 1998-99

B.J. Leach pulled off a rare double honor in 1999 when he was named both the ABCA Division II National Pitcher and Player of the Year. A first-team All-American as a pitcher and a second-team honoree at second base, Leach was named 1999 SSC Pitcher and Player of the Year and was selected to the SSC Silver Anniversary Baseball Team as a pitcher. The Mocs’ MVP in 1999, he was a two-time All-SSC pitcher and was also All-SSC as a second baseman. His .788 slugging percentage in 1999 is second-best at FSC while his .695 career slugging percentage is second-best at FSC by .0005 point. He ranks fourth with 145 strikeouts in 1999, while his 13 career complete games rank fifth-best. Following his college career, he was drafted and signed by the Boston Red Sox. Later this summer he will be inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame.
