MEGAN BROWN

Megan Brown played four seasons for the Moccasins from 2004-07 and pitched FSC to the national runner-up spot in 2004, a third place finish in 2006, and a third-place finish in 2007. Playing for fellow FSC Hall of  Chris Bellotto, Brown led the Mocs to three Sunshine State Conference championships. She was Team MVP in each of her four seasons. A three-time All-American, including first-team honors in 2004 and 2007, she was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American. Brown was named to the All-South Region Team, South Region All-Tournament Team, All-SSC Team, SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and was a three-time SSC Pitcher of the Year. She earned National All-Tournament Team honors in 2006 and was a two-time South Regional Tournament MVP. Brown was selected to the SSC’s Silver Anniversary Softball Team and was named the SSC Female Athlete and Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2007. In addition, she was named the Polk County Sports Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year three years in a row. She posted a 124-26 career record, ranking sixth on the NCAA All-Time Win List, and finished with a 0.69 career ERA. Brown tossed 58 career shutouts – eighth most in NCAA Division II. She holds 11 FSC school records, including 997 career strikeouts as well as wins and ERA. She recorded 12 no-hitters in her career and won 20 post-season games. She received the Hal Smeltzly Award as the 2004 FSC Female Athlete of the Year, and she was a two-time recipient of the Pat McFadden Award as FSC’s Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. In June 2013, she was inducted into the SSC Hall of Fame. A 2007 FSC graduate, Brown played professionally for two seasons in the USA as well as two seasons in Italy. A recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, she earned her master’s degree in education from FSC in 2009.
