Mark Angelo was a cornerstone of the Florida Southern College baseball program from 1980 to 1983, playing four seasons with three as a starter and helping lead the Mocs to the 1981 NCAA National Championship. An All-American in 1981, Angelo hit an impressive .375 during the championship season and was a consistent offensive and defensive force throughout his collegiate career.

Angelo set multiple program records, including single-season marks for doubles (19) and putouts (523) in 1981, as well as four career records: 202 games played, 685 at bats, 44 doubles, and 1,359 putouts. He remains ranked in the top 10 in ten different career statistical categories at FSC. Over his career, Angelo batted .333 with 20 home runs and 167 RBIs, contributing to the Mocs' remarkable 181-27 record during his four years.

Beyond the 1981 national title, FSC was a consistent powerhouse, finishing as NCAA runners-up and winning the South Regional in all four seasons of Angelo's tenure. He earned All-Sunshine State Conference honors and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 18th round of the 1983 MLB Draft.

Angelo's outstanding contributions to Florida Southern baseball were recognized with his induction into the FSC Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988 and later into the Cape Cod League Hall of Fame in 2009.

Mark Angelo passed away in April 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the most impactful players in FSC history. He graduated in 1983.
