CHUCK ANDERSON

Former head coach of the Moccasin baseball team, Chuck Anderson led the Mocs to three NCAA National Championships in 1985, 1988 and 1995. As coach of the Mocs from 1984 to his retirement in 2002, he compiled an 816-244-1 career record to rank second among NCAA Division II coaches with a .770 winning percentage and 12th all-time in victories. A former two-time Moccasin baseball MVP and a 1963 graduate of FSC, Anderson led the Mocs to NCAA post-season play in 17 of his last 19 seasons. A member of the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Anderson is also a member of the Halls of Fame for Polk County Sports; FSC Baseball and the Sunshine State Conference. His FSC jersey, number 12, is retired. He also served the college as Associate Athletic Director for Fundraising and Special Events after he retired from coaching. (Anderson passed away in 2003.)
