Doug Gordin got his membership in the FSC National Championship Coaching Club in his debut season with the Mocs, winning the NCAA title in 1996. Starting in 1998, he led the Mocs to three consecutive NCAA national championships and just missed a fourth straight, finishing second nationally in 2001. Gordin has coached three NCAA individual national champions, while a total of 33 players have earned All-America honors under his tutelage. From 1997 to 2001, the Mocs owned the SSC as well, winning five straight league titles. A four-time GCAA National Coach of the Year in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000, Gordin was inducted into the GCAA Hall of Fame in 2001. (Coach Gordin retired following the 2017-18 season.
