FRANK CACCIATORE
Baseball, 1974-75

Frank Cacciatore played for the Mocs in 1974 and 1975. A second-team All-American in 1975, he was team MVP as a senior. He was instrumental in helping the Mocs win the 1975 national championship, batting .500 during the championship tournament to earn tournament MVP honors. His .351 batting average as a senior gave him a .322 career mark. Following his 1976 graduation, Cacciatore was drafted and signed with the Detroit Tigers’ organization. He left professional baseball to return to his alma mater, where he served as an assistant coach with the baseball team (1978-82) and was a member of the FSC faculty, teaching mathematics. The former minor league outfielder has managed for nine minor league seasons including stops in the San Francisco, Florida and Houston organizations. He is currently with the Harrisonburg Senators, a Class-AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
