JOHN EDWARDS
Men’s Basketball, 1973-76

John Edwards was the Mocs’ big man in the middle playing basketball for four seasons at Florida Southern. He highlighted his career by being named to the All-America team as a senior and remains the only men’s basketball player to be named most valuable player in three consecutive seasons. Edwards is the Moccasins’ second all-time rebounder with 1,214 career rebounds while his 671 career field goals made ranks fifth best. He holds the second and third best rebounding totals in Moccasin history while his 15.8 rebounding average as a senior is a school record. A 1976 graduate, he ranks fourth with a 12.9 career rebounding mark while his 671 field goals made in his career ranks fifth most at FSC. Edward’s jersey, number 41, was the first men’s basketball number retired at Florida Southern.
